Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress, who is employed in television, film as well as theatre. After graduating high school, Contractor was awarded a scholarship by The University of Toronto to pursue the dual field of psychology and sociology. She also earned a Master's degree in Theatre. Contractor was given the lead character in Pericles following her one year stay in University. She was a part of the audition for the role in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and won. Her performance was lauded in the 92 plays that she performed in. She won the 2002 award for the best production of the Year from Canadian Critics. Contractor was offered the opportunity to enroll in Stratford's conservatory program, where only eight males and four females are selected for a 20-week crash course on classical theater which she was eager to take. Contractor's spot was assured for the following season of shows as she was offered the part in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
